Happy Birthday Grandma Sylvia | お婆ちゃんお誕生日おめでとう 🎂

Today is my paternal grandmother's birthday, I like to think that I get a lot of my style and sass from her. 😏💅🏾😈

She was the first to teach me to salsa dance and the first to teach me to be comfortable in my own skin.

Whenever I went to visit her in Jamaica, Queens...it was always an adventure.  🇵🇦

I loved dancing with her in her living room and smelling all of the amazing food she would cook from her kitchen. 

Her apartment was in a building full of colorful people but to me she was the brightest one.  ✨

I've been feeling sad all week...today was no different. 

I'd like to think that somewhere she is watching over me and giving me advice of how to be a badass in the moments where I don't feel like one.

今日は私の父方の祖母の誕生日です。私は彼女から多くのスタイルと生意気をもらっていると思います. 😏💅🏾😈

 彼女は私にサルサダンスを教えてくれた最初の人であり、自分の肌で快適になることを教えてくれた最初の人でした.

 ジャマイカ、クイーンズに彼女を訪ねるたびに... それはいつも冒険でした.

 私は彼女の居間で彼女と一緒に踊ったり、彼女がキッチンで作った素晴らしい料理の匂いを嗅いだりするのが大好きでした.

 彼女のアパートはカラフルな人々でいっぱいの建物にありましたが、私にとって彼女は最も明るいものでした.

 私は一週間ずっと悲しんでいました…今日も同じでした。

 彼女はどこかで私を見守ってくれていると思いたいです。

 お婆ちゃんお誕生日おめでとう。 愛してます。
